Justin Abbasi

Justin Abbasi, MD is a child welfare advocate and resident physician training in pediatrics, general psychiatry, and child & adolescent psychiatry at Stanford. He spent seven years in foster care in South Carolina prior to attending college at Yale where he co-founded Harbor Fellows, a support program for students who lack traditional family support. He worked for a medical-legal partnership in Washington, DC for two years before starting medical school at UCLA. He has contributed to state and national child welfare reform efforts and hopes to use his medical training to address health disparities among foster youth and other marginalized pediatric populations.
