Jahmil Effend

Jahmil Effend is the Associate Director of Student Engagement at Quinnipiac University, where he has worked since 2021 to enhance student experiences through leadership development and campus programming. He has been working in the field of higher education since 2018 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management as well as a Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a specialization in Student Development in Higher Education.

Since 2020, Jahmil has served on the Board of Directors for SUN Scholars, where he leverages his professional expertise and passion for supporting students’ success and personal growth. His dedication to fostering inclusion and opportunity reflects his commitment to the organization’s mission.

Jahmil is also an award-winning author, having published three fiction books. He resides in Wethersfield, Connecticut, with his wife and daughter and is committed to creating positive change in his community and beyond.
