Jacqueline Marks

Jacqueline Marks serves as a Project Coordinator for the Transforming Children’s Behavior Health Policy and Planning Committee (TCB) at the TOW Youth Justice Institute. At Central Connecticut State University, she earned a bachelor's degree in political science with a sociology minor. Jacqueline is a New Haven native who was born into a family of community activist and church clergy, which instilled a yearning in her to create positive change globally. She has been involved in community engagement since an adolescent and continues to strive daily to reduce disparities throughout all communities, while encouraging economic growth and development. She has used her experience in community advocacy, collaborating with local and state council members, and community service to represent the disadvantaged and foster hope. She aims to pursue public interest law as an attorney and engage in the development of policy and law to advance all people. Jacqueline believes true positive change can occur through legislation reform and will pursue this passion through all of her endeavors. As an avid supporter of SUN Scholars since its founding, Jacqueline was a mentee during her undergraduate years and is an exemplary representation of the accomplishments the program generates. In light of her experience, she wishes to empower other foster and adopted youth by engaging actively. She is dedicated to providing people with encouragement and guidance needed to breed success.
