Christopher Scott, Executive Director
Christopher Baker-Scott is the Co-founder and Executive Director of SUN Scholars Inc. In this role, he serves as the key operating officer, overseeing fundraising, development, and the management of direct-service programs, including the Robert & Anthony Dudchik SUN Memorial Fund Program.
Academically, Scott holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a management focus from the University of Hartford, a Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) in Government Extension Studies from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Journalism from Central Connecticut State University.
Scott is a nationally recognized expert and non-profit leader intersecting the fields of child welfare and higher education. He applies this expertise extensively within his Connecticut community and beyond. From 2019-2023, Scott was appointed by Governor Ned Lamont to the Department of Children and Families Advisory Board. He contributed to the “Ending the Need for Group Home Placements” initiative by the YWCA and Casey Foundation, has delivered keynote presentations at conferences across the U.S., and was named one of CT Magazine's “40 Under 40” in 2022. In 2019, Scott was one of only 12 individuals selected nationwide for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Foster Youth Internship program. Through this prestigious program, he worked in the office of Senator Amy Klobuchar and published and presented a child welfare research report delivered to Congress and the White House.
